The Flotilla, Gaza’s Starvation, and Why AIPAC is Finally on the Run

September 22, 2025

Israel’s war on Gaza has reached a point of undeniable horror. Families are being starved. Hospitals are collapsing without power or medicine. Children are dying from preventable diseases because food, clean water, and antibiotics are blocked at the border. This is not a “security policy.” It is deliberate collective punishment. It is genocide.

Ordinary People Step Up Where Governments Fail

Against this brutality, ordinary people have stepped up where governments have failed. The Global Sumud Flotilla set sail not with weapons, but with powdered milk, antibiotics, water filters, and food. Volunteers from 44 countries risked their lives to deliver aid to families that Israel has trapped behind its illegal blockade. These ships carry humanity’s conscience. Yet Netanyahu’s government smears them as “terrorists.” When you call baby formula for infants a threat, you’ve lost the argument.

Greta Thunberg: “A Mission Like This Should Not Have to Exist”

The flotilla has already overcome drone surveillance, incendiary attacks, and a campaign of relentless intimidation. Greta Thunberg, on her second humanitarian flotilla to Gaza, put it plainly: “A mission like this should not have to exist.” She is right. The only reason it does is because governments like the United States — pressured by AIPAC-backed politicians — refuse to stop Israel’s blockade that starves children and denies medicine to the sick.

A Global Wave of Recognition for Palestine

But the tide is turning. Western governments once thought immovable are breaking ranks. Britain, Canada, Australia, and Portugal have recognized Palestinian statehood. France followed, and Belgium, Luxembourg, and Malta are preparing to do the same at the UN General Assembly. This unprecedented wave of recognition is the direct result of public pressure that has reached a breaking point.

Exposing AIPAC’s Corruption

Israel is being exposed. And in the United States, so is AIPAC and the Israel lobby. For decades, AIPAC has bought silence and loyalty in Washington. They fund smear campaigns against anyone who dares stand up for Palestinian lives. They bankroll the very politicians who enable Israel’s bombs and blockade. That money is blood money. And every politician who takes it is complicit in genocide.

The Tide is Turning in America Too

But their grip is slipping. Poll after poll shows a majority of Americans want to stop arming Israel. More members of Congress are rejecting AIPAC’s money and calling out the occupation for what it is. Every shipload of baby formula that reaches Gaza, every recognition vote at the UN, and every grassroots protest across the United States makes AIPAC’s manufactured consensus crumble.

The Choice Before Us

This is the moment to push harder. We cannot allow politicians who take AIPAC’s checks to hide behind excuses while children in Gaza die of hunger. We must replace them with leaders who cannot be bought, who will stand up to the lobby and fight for justice.

The people on the flotilla are risking their lives. The least we can do is risk our comfort, raise our voices, and put our resources behind the movement to end this genocide. The tide is turning, but only if we keep building pressure until every Democrat knows that taking AIPAC’s money is a career-ending mistake.

It is time to starve AIPAC of power — not Gaza’s children of food.
