The Mask Is Off: AIPAC’s Desperation Reaches a New Low as Global Pressure Mounts

July 29, 2025

AIPAC accusing Senator Sanders of “despicable blood libel”.

In a stunning and deeply disturbing escalation, AIPAC has accused Senator Bernie Sanders — a Jewish American who lost family in the Holocaust — of committing “blood libel” for simply speaking the truth.

In a public statement, Senator Sanders condemned the Israeli government’s brutal war on Gaza, saying:

“The Netanyahu government’s extermination of Gaza intensifies. Malnutrition is rampant, children are starving to death, people are shot while waiting for meager food rations — and US weapons allow it to happen. Trump and Congress must act NOW. Stop the slaughter. Feed the people.”

In response, AIPAC accused Sanders of “despicable blood libel,” a phrase historically used to justify antisemitic violence and persecution of Jews.

This isn’t just grotesque. It’s revealing. It shows exactly what AIPAC is: an extremist political machine operating as an unregistered foreign agent. One that will resort to antisemitic attacks against Jewish Americans when they refuse to fall in line with the Israeli government’s crimes.

AIPAC’s Assault on Truth

For decades, AIPAC has cloaked itself in the language of bipartisanship and Jewish advocacy. But its true function has always been shielding Israel’s most extreme policies from criticism — through propaganda, political donations, and fearmongering.

Now, AIPAC is targeting Bernie Sanders — a Jewish senator, Holocaust descendant, and lifelong human rights advocate — for the act of naming genocide as genocide.

The irony is almost too sharp to bear: the very slur AIPAC deployed has historically been used to incite violence against Jews like Sanders. That’s how desperate they’ve become.

The World is Watching — And Acting

AIPAC’s unhinged response didn’t happen in a vacuum. It comes as international opinion is rapidly shifting:

  • France is on the verge of officially recognizing Palestinian statehood.

  • Twenty-eight Western countries — including Canada, Australia, and Italy — recently issued a historic joint statement calling for an immediate end to the war in Gaza.

  • Belgium has arrested and interrogated two Israeli soldiers for war crimes they posted on social media. Belgian authorities confirmed the investigation is ongoing.

  • The Netherlands has designated Israel a security threat for the first time in history. Dutch intelligence revealed that Israeli operatives distributed inappropriate personal data on Dutch citizens and orchestrated coordinated disinformation campaigns to interfere with justice proceedings at the International Criminal Court.

These are not fringe developments. These are democratic allies of the United States recognizing what AIPAC refuses to admit: that the Netanyahu government is committing crimes against humanity — and trying to silence anyone who dares to say it.

The Brutal Reality on the Ground

The facts are no longer in dispute, even as AIPAC tries to twist them into “libel”:

  • At least 200,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded. (The real number is higher and won’t be known for some time.)

  • Over 1,000 people have been shot while seeking food aid since May.

  • Gaza’s hospital system has collapsed under targeted attacks.

  • Children are dying of starvation in front of the world’s eyes.

  • $22 billion in U.S. weapons continue to fuel this humanitarian catastrophe.

And yet, when a sitting U.S. senator states this plainly, AIPAC calls it blood libel.

Propaganda, Power, and a Failing Playbook

AIPAC’s real fear is not Bernie Sanders. It’s the truth. It’s a growing, unstoppable public demand for accountability. It’s the fact that their decades-long chokehold on U.S. foreign policy is finally starting to slip.

The Netherlands called out “coordinated propaganda campaigns” targeting international institutions. That is exactly what AIPAC does in the United States — manipulating public opinion and campaign finance to protect Netanyahu’s war machine and silence dissent.

Their recent attack on Sanders is a warning shot, meant to chill speech and intimidate lawmakers. But it’s not working. The tide is turning — in public sentiment, in international diplomacy, and in the halls of Congress.

It’s Time to Name the Real Threat

Let’s be clear: the threat to Jewish safety is not Bernie Sanders. It’s AIPAC and its normalization of extremism. It’s their efforts to smear whistleblowers, defend war crimes, and distort the public debate with disinformation and dark money.

The mask is off. AIPAC is not a pro-Israel group. It is a pro-apartheid machine running interference for a violent, authoritarian regime.

And the world is finally waking up.
